Swedish Sugar Toast
Want to share some love? Cut bread to resemble hearts.
Yield: Up to 36 slices
Preparation Time: Total Time: 15 min
Ingredients

cup |
granulated sugar

|
| 1 |
teaspoon |
ground cinnamon
|
|
|
| 1 |
teaspoon |
ground cardamom
|
|
|
| 1/4 |
teaspoon |
ground cloves
|
|
|
|
|
Butter, softened
|
|
|
| 1 |
loaf |
sliced white bread
|
|
|
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a small bowl, combine sugar, cardamom and cloves.
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread; sprinkle sugar mixture on buttered side.
Place on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Serve warm.
Serve with warm syrup or sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
Note: Sugar mixture can be made ahead and used as needed. Store in an airtight container.
